Professor among six killed in road crashes



KARACHI:

Six people including an assistant professor of a government college lost their lives while one woman sustained injuries in different road mishaps on Saturday.

A speeding double cabin SUV, recklessly driven by the grandson of former DIG, hit a food delivery biker, killing him on the spot on Khayaban-e-Nishat in DHA. The deceased was identified as Murtaza.

The police have arrested the driver of the SUV, Usman Shah Rashidi. Police sources said that Usman is the grandson of former DIG Pir Hassan Shah Rashidi.

A speeding car hit a motorcycle near Teen Talwar, resulting in the death of one person on the spot and leaving another seriously injured. The occupants of the car were arrested.

A man was killed when a trailer hit his motorcycle near Landhi Future Mor. He was identified as Iftikhar Ahmed Bhutto, an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at a government college in Shah Faisal Colony.

An man was killed in a traffic accident on Hub River Road in the Mauripur area. He was identified as Munir Ahmed Dharejo. He worked as a security guard at a private company.

A young motorcyclist was killed when a trailer hit him on Jam Sadiq Bridge near Qayyumabad. He was identified as Abiya Sadaqat. Police arrested the trailer driver, Dilbar.

A man identified as Shamoon died while his mother Anjum sustained injuries when a speeding car hit their motorcycle on Sharae Faisal.
